Maternal
& Child Health-
IHCS remains actively involved in activities related
to maternal/child health.
Maternal
Infant Health Program
The Michigan Department of Community
Health has undertaken the Maternal
Infant Health Program, which is a multi-year
strategy to redesign the former Maternal Support
Services/Infant Support Services (MSS/ISS) Program.
The purpose of the Maternal Infant Health Program
is to more effectively identify and target at-risk
Medicaid enrollees; employ risk stratification
criteria and intervention appropriate to each
level of risk; and to more effectively align the
program with other existing maternal/child programs
and services. IHCS has played an active role in
the Maternal Infant Health Program design and
continues to provide input and subject matter
expertise in the areas of process improvement,
maternal child health, and population management
model design/implementation.
