Research Scientist Agreements
IHCS has historically had a formal research relationship with one or more researchers each fiscal year. These relationships are established via a Research Scientist Agreement (RSA).
An RSA recognizes a commitment of time by the Principle Investigator (PI) for work of unique value and interest to IHCS. IHCS provides general guidance about priority research issues and target populations. Areas of interest include health services research, demonstration projects that address access, quality, and cost issues, collaboration with health care providers, and development of educational materials for students, residents, and health care providers.
The PI develops his or her own research agendas and specific projects within the general framework provided by IHCS. The PI is responsible for writing grant proposals, initiating and maintaining contacts with key collaborators, providing periodic updates to IHCS and colleagues, and disseminating the results of completed projects.
An RSA is not intended to have any effect on the PI’s primary MSU appointment.
