The MiHIN Resource Center and Marquette General Hospital are offering a HL7 Training Workshop and On-Site Certification Opportunity in cooperation with Health Level Seven, Inc.

Who Should Attend?

Anyone interested in interoperability standards affecting health information technology and health information exchange.  HL7 Certification is increasingly becoming a desirable credential in the health care employment market.

Workshop Content

Day 1: Introduction to HL7 Version 2

The introductory tutorial on day 1 is designed for individuals with little or no HL7 experience. This tutorial will provide an overview of the Control Chapter and the most implemented aspects of the HL7 V2.x standard; Patient Administration, Orders, and Observations.  

Day 2: Version 2 Control Specialist Review Course (Optional)

Review and Certification Testing for HL7’s V2.5 Control Chapter. Certification involves passing  a 2 hour long, 70 question, multiple choice exam with a minimum score of 70 percent.

Why HL7?

Health Level Seven (HL7) is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). HL7 establishes criteria for representing and communicating data associated with health care. HL7 concentrates on the clinical and administrative aspect of data generated within and across health care institutions
