Dr. Teresa Wehrwein
Teresa Wehrwein, PhD, MSN, RN is an Associate Professor in the MSU College of Nursing, where she serves as the Assistant Dean for Professional Partnerships and Faculty Practice. Dr. Wehrwein is affiliated with the Institute for Health Care Studies as a research scientist. In this capacity, she provides advisory and consultative services to IHCS staff, as well as to the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH). Dr. Wehrwein provides leadership for various IHCS quality improvement activities focusing on Medicaid and managed care. MDCH also draws on her expertise and private sector experience in other activities such as the “Michigan Steps Up” Campaign and the Primary Care Initiative for a Healthier Michigan. Dr. Wehrwein is heavily involved in the Primary Care Initiative, a statewide, broad-based group of key stakeholders and other interested parties convened to collaborate to enhance the system of delivery of prevention services and the management of chronic disease and other conditions in primary care settings throughout Michigan.
