Suzette Burkitt-Wesolek, BSN, RN is a Project Manager for the Institute for Health Care Studies at Michigan State University. Ms. Burkitt-Wesolek received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Madonna College and completed the Risk Management Course, School of Healthcare Risk Management at Madonna University.
Ms. Burkitt-Wesolek has over 18 years experience in the health care industry including maternal/child health, immunizations, quality management, utilization management and case management, skilled home care visits, local and state maternal/child public health department programs, and maternal/child hospital nursing. Ms. Burkitt-Wesolek has been involved in health care quality improvement for more than 15 years and has 10 years managed care experience in quality management, health policy, clinical guidelines, health plan accreditation, federal and state regulations, and Health Employer Data Information Set (HEDIS). Ms. Burkitt-Wesolek’s most recent experience as a the Senior Analyst for the Michigan Department of Community Health, Medical Services Administration included monitoring health care quality initiatives and outcomes of Michigan Medicaid managed care organizations.
Ms. Burkitt-Wesolek has participated in 3 National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) accreditation surveys, is a past instructor and current board member of Expectant Parent’s Organization (EPO) and earned professional certification from the Academy of Healthcare Management.
